WHAT IS RHASSOUL OR LAVAERDE?
Mined in the Atlas mountains of Morocco in Africa, this natural clay compound has served for centuries as a traditional hair and skin cleanser. To this day the King of Morocco maintains a private mine to serve the needs of his Court, and Rhassoul still makes up part of the bride's dowry.

How does it work?
When combined with water the tiny particles of clay combine to form a pleasant gel texture. The unique properties of this gel structure allow for an enormous absorption capacity.  It readily binds with particles and excessive oils, much like an ink blotter works. Washing with LavaErde allows the skin and hair to retain some of it's natural oils, and it will not strip off the protective layers of the skin or irritate sebaceous glands.

Due to it's extremely mild, non-soapy cleansing action, LavaErde is particularly recommended for sensitive skins. It wont irritate or disturb your skins acid mantle or sebaceous glands, so it benefits both sensitive and oily skin alike. Perfect for people allergic to soap and aggressive cleansers.
