Powders, Blushes and Foundation

Applying Foundation
Apply small drops of foundation to your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin, and spread with your fingertips or makeup sponge using outward strokes. Always allow your foundation or tinted day cream time to absorb into the skin before fixing with powder. Don't apply too thickly or you'll end up with that caked look. Rather apply two thin coats and be wary of the area around the nose. Anyone under 30 should avoid foundation if at all possible as it generally isn't necessary. A light skin toned concealer and a little powder will often do the trick to hide small blemishes and imperfections.

About Makeup Powders
Powders help to fix your makeup base, either tinted day cream or liquid foundation, and provide a silken matte finish. Also, Blush powder and Eyeshadow powder adhere better to powdered skin.
Wait until the foundation has penetrated before applying a powder. When choosing between loose and pressed powder remember that loose powder softens contours, whereas pressed powders create a sharper, more clearly defined look. Pressed powders in compacts also offer the convenience of take anywhere, for quick touch ups.

Applying Makeup Powders
Always use a brush or puff to apply powder. Apply in the direction of fine facial hair to avoid a dull appearance to your complexion. For a natural understated look, choose a colour one shade lighter than your natural skin tone.

Applying Blush
To narrow a round face apply a narrow band of blush below your cheekbones in the direction of your nose. To add feminine contours to an angular face, apply a blush arc from the cheekbones towards the middle of the nose. To balance a triangular shaped face, apply a short upright blush stroke above the cheekbones. For an oval shaped face, apply a delicately curved blush stroke directly onto the cheekbones.

Lips and Lipsticks

About Lipliners
You need a lip liner to prevent your lipstick from spreading into the fine lines and cracks in the skin around your lips. A lip liner will effectively stop any "bleeding" and contain your lipstick where you need it, on your lips. For a natural look, use the same or similar shade lipstick to lip liner, for a more accented look , use a darker shade lip liner.

Applying Lipliner
Begin by drawing the little "M" on your upper lip, and then outline the entire mouth with a thin line, following the line of your lips. For a fuller look draw on the outside edge and for a thinner look draw the line on the inside edge. Now fill the lips in with your favourite Logona lipstick or lipstick pencil.

Eyes and Eyebrows

How to make eye makeup work for you.
Firstly apply a light shadow over the entire lid up to the eyebrow and then follow with a darker shade over the moving part of the lid. In general, lighter shades make yours eyes larger, darker shades, smaller. Mind not to go to light or you will end up with "racoon" eyes.
A line of kajal eyeliner drawn above the lashes makes them appear thicker and helps model the eye. An eyeliner line on the inside of the lid can also add an interesting affect. A lighter line drawn on the inside edge of the eye will lend a radiant effect to your eyes, or a colour the same shade as your eyes will intensify their natural colour.

Finally, define your lashes with several light layers of mascara, applied outwards and upwards. Lashes will clump if you put on too much mascara at once. Several lighter layers will give the impression of length and volume, so give each coat a chance to dry before applying the next.

Concealers

How to apply
Use directly after your liquid foundation, once again ensuring the foundation has been allowed time to absorb into the skin. Apply the Coverstick directly to the problem areas and blend very gently with your finger. Follow this with a powder to fix and blend the concealer. The liquid concealer works in exactly the same fashion, but offers a  different consistency to the Coverstick.

If you are trying to cover acne or acne related marks we recommend that you try the Clear Skin range from Logona, as this line offers a Blemish Stick and Concealer that contain an antibacterial ingredient to combat and treat the skins underlying problem.
